Now that I'm 3 weeks into my senior year, I have got to admit that it has been better than what I expected. Unfortunately, I've also had to adjust to the new circumstances that are happening at school and dealing with all that’s changed. The chance to reconnect with some of my old friends has been pleasant-- to say the least-- but I do miss my boyfriend, Jonathan, who has left for college out of state. Currently, I’m on pace with all of my classes, and content with my schedule, I was given almost all of the classes that I was hoping for and several of my friends also received similar schedules to mine, for the most part, which worked out nicely for me. As far as my senior project is concerned, I’ve been working on updating my “clubs and activities” page, and also the “about me” page, in order to make them more up-to-date and interesting. An issue that I’ve been facing, is the fact that I’m still figuring out how to use the school-issued chromebooks, which makes getting my work done very inconvenient. I wouldn’t say that I’m particularly excited about anything happening this year, but I suppose the potential of what my senior website could become opens up endless opportunities for creativity , and it’s kind of fun at times personalizing the website to show what my life has been like the past four year and what it’s like now. I’m looking forward to experiencing the rites of passage every senior goes through and fully and thoroughly enjoying my last high school moments. I’m also curious about what colleges I will decide to apply to and which ones will accept me. Although I am nervous about what the future has in stock for me, I am excited to prepare for what comes after high school. A couple of my goals for this year are: to become president of the drama club-- I want to make the club more active and make the members be more involved than previous years, another goal I have is to raise my GPA to a 3.8, as well as reach an SAT score of 1800. I’m aiming to get into a U.C. or another four-year university for my after high school plan to pursue a higher education. One decision I have been considering is whether or not getting a job would be a good idea. For one, it would be an effective way to save up some money for college, but I’m hesitant, because jobs are very time consuming and it would limit my time to do homework severely, as well as not giving me enough time to participate in any school sports. Regardless of what my decision comes down to, I will be applying to a variety of scholarships to help pay for college. I’m excited to see how my future will unfold.
